The Frontier Year Team is a nine-month training program for high school graduates and beyond who are desirous of growing in leadership gifting, ministry skills and devotional commitment to God. As Year Team members are challenged to learn, serve and grow, they discover new ways to become increasingly involved in God's overall mission.
Learn One of the significant purposes of the Frontier Year Team is that each Team member develops a lifestyle of learning that will serve them for the rest of their life. Knowing that this kind of lifestyle does not happen without effort, Year Team members are challenged on a number of different fronts to accomplish this. Whether it is classes on valuable topics such as Biblical Doctrines and Church Planting or reading books and sermons that stimulate spiritual vision, growth and faith, the Frontier Year Team provides many opportunities conducive for a life of learning.
Serve The Frontier Year Team has become synonymous with serving. Year Team members, in conjunction with local leadership, select an area of internship in which they receive specific training for ministry. Past members have interned in areas of worship, audio/visual development and children's ministry, to name just a few. Opportunities to serve also abound on a local level, whether it's setting up chairs or helping to reach the lost. Team members grow in their leadership skills as they give themselves to serve in these ways.
Grow Character development is such an integral aspect of our growth in God. In all venues of Frontier Year Team life, Team members are consistently encouraged to develop and reflect attitudes that are grounded in the Kingdom of God. Much of this growth takes place on a relational basis as Team members live with families of a local Newfrontiers church, are mentored and relate to other Team members within the context of being on a mission together. All in all, Team members invariably experience radical changes in character that serve as a foundation for continued growth in God for years ahead.
