Helping those who can't help themselves is at the very heart of our Christian faith. A clear thread we see throughout the whole Bible is God’s love for the poor and needy and His desire for His own people to engage in social responsibility. Being surrounded by prosperity and ease, we can be blinded by the real needs of today's world. You may be shocked to learn that there is a thriving black market in human beings. In fact, there are more people in slavery today that at any time in history — over 27 million! What's even more shocking is that it doesn't all happen abroad, but in our own backyards. God’s word directly addresses the issue of human trafficking and how we are to respond as His people. Join this seminar to discover God’s heart for one of the most important social justice issues of our time and how you can make a difference.

Every day we are constantly presented with simple opportunities to advance the gospel through relationships. These simple opportunities can turn into major transformation in our workplace, school or family life over time as we follow Jesus in his model for discipleship. How do we better engage the people we see everyday? How can we see our community grow in size and spiritual maturity through discipleship? How do we break through with people who would seemingly never step foot in a church? What role does the Holy Spirit play in discipleship? Jesus reveals some amazingly simple and practical answers to these questions. Join us as we evaluate how Jesus approached the people in the world around him to advance the gospel through darkness.

Christians are pretty good at singing songs that tell the truth about who we are and what we have in Christ. When we are not singing, we don’t always do so well. Confessing as true what the Bible says about our standing and provision will make us happier. It will build faith in others and will prepare us for difficulty. It will make us more effective messengers of Good News.

The gospel must be at the heart of all we do. It's not just the goal, it is the motivator and the reason. Many church leaders unknowingly lead and motivate out of a sense of guilt or legalism even though goal is salvation. In this talk, Jeff unpacks the realities of living and leading through the gospel.

God asked Isaiah what kind of a house could be built for Him. As church leaders, we must ask ourselves this question. Are we building based on culture or pragmatism or are we working to build a church that mimics the example set forth in the New Testament?

God has us all in a process called sanctification. He is using everything in this world to mold us, shape us, and transform us into the image of His Son. The challenge we face is this: do we actually do what we believe? Or do we have certain doctrines in our lives that have no effect on how we live?

Judges 2:10 says, "...And there arose another generation after them who did not know the LORD or the work that he had done for Israel." We live in a time in the United States where we are moving further and further away from Jesus and the mission He has called us to. One of those reasons, is that we hold the Scriptures loosely. This message attempts to point out the reasons why we are at risk of letting go of God's word and to encourage this generation to stand out and stand up as light in the midst of darkness.

If you have come to saving faith in Jesus you have been called, chosen and set apart to be his witness. But how? How do we make time? How do we know what to say and when to say it? How do we overcome fear and insecurity? How?...when the Bible is so clear that we are called to be on mission for the name of Jesus.

Seminar 4 | January 15, 2011
Everybody knows that pastors and missionaries are serving God with their chosen career. But what if you are not "called" to vocational ministry? Is there a way for you to dedicate your career to God as well? Have you ever wondered if your regular job can be more than just a job? Can Christ redeem the mundane - paperwork, bureaucracy, staff meetings - and revolutionize the world from your cubicle? What would it look like to pursue God's will outside of a church building, and see His kingdom come? In this seminar we will explore a Biblical framework for work and discuss how a calling outside of the ministry can produce fruit for God's kingdom. The modern church has neglected a sacred approach to work, and has overlooked opportunities to display Christ's glory in the richest mission field of all - the workplace. Come and discover how the Holy Spirit can empower you to bring the illuminating power of the gospel to the boardroom, classroom, exam room, or any other room you find yourself in.

Whether you are watching 24 or LOST, hearing a movie star apologize for their latest public scandal or praying Bret Favre would return to the NFL, the biblical mega-theme of redemption is as relevant today as ever. But how can we make sense of these shadows of redemption that point us to the Redeemer? What are the similarities and differences between the redemption we see all around us and the cosmic Redemption God is bringing about? Where does a young person like you fit into God's story of redemption and what role does God have for you in working out his purposes? Join us as we address these questions and more.

The Christian life was never intended to be solely characterized by an academic approach to theology, but by the Word of God made alive by the power and presence of the Holy Spirit. The Spirit-filled life should never be perceived as an optional extra for the Christian, but become the daily pursuit of the disciple. In this seminar we will look at the components of a Spirit-filled life, church and walk.

Faith is not positive thinking nor is it wishing for the best, but as Hebrews 11 teaches us, it's being convinced about a better future solely based and rooted in the promises of God. This message attempts to unpack what faith is and more importantly, how it can be activated in our lives.

CH Spurgeon often spoke about the need for the Church to be "Praying in the Holy Ghost’s power." J. Stuart Holden wrote, "Such prayer, is always victorious." What do we know of this in our own lives and churches? How much of our personal and corporate praying is inspired and led by the Spirit who knows the will of God?

Leadership extends beyond your role, whether at work, at home or in the church. Leadership is influence that affects how other people live their lives. In this sense, leadership is a part of your identity and calling as a believer.
